Dates and session times
The 2027 World Championship runs 17 April–3 May at the Crucible. The tournament marks 100 years since the first championship in 1927. Wu Yize defends the title after his 18–17 win over Shaun Murphy in 2026.
The official 2027 booking timetable lists 10am, 2.30pm and 7pm on days with three sessions. On 22, 26 and 29 April, play starts at 1pm and 7pm. The final on 2–3 May also starts at 1pm and 7pm, with no morning play. All times are UK local time (BST). Checked 5 October 2026.
First and second rounds overlap on 22 April: one table can be on a different round from the other. The full price table gives the published round labels and start time for every session. Player allocations come from the draw and results, not a ticket bought months ahead.
Round by round: which table?
| Round | Dates in 2027 | Tables | Match length | Scheduled sessions |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| First round | 17–22 April | 2 | Best of 19 · first to 10 | 2 per match |
| Second round | 22–26 April | 2 | Best of 25 · first to 13 | 3 per match |
| Quarter-finals | 27–28 April | 2 | Best of 25 · first to 13 | 3 per match |
| Semi-finals | 29 April–1 May | 1 | Best of 33 · first to 17 | 4 per match |
| Final | 2–3 May | 1 | Best of 35 · first to 18 | 4 across two days |
The session count is per match, not the total number of sessions that round occupies. A match can end before all scheduled sessions are needed. “Best of 19” means the first player to 10 frames wins; there is no obligation to play all 19.
Two tables through the quarter-finals; one from the semi-finals. A partition divides the playing area in the early rounds. On WST’s printed two-table plan, Table One is on the left half and Table Two on the right half, with the players’ entrance at the top. This is the plan’s orientation, not a promise that “left” means your left when entering the building.
Table One follows the top half of the draw; Table Two the bottom half. Your seat faces the booked table. The partition blocks a clear view across to the other match. It is removed for the one-table semi-finals and final, beginning on 29 April 2027.
Admission covers the date, start time and reserved position printed on your session ticket. In the two-table rounds, check the selected table too; seeing every session of one match means making separate bookings.
The one-table final has four separate sessions: 2 May at 1pm and 7pm, then 3 May at 1pm and 7pm. The last evening is the scheduled deciding session, but a one-sided final can finish earlier. The semi-final concluding sessions are 1 May at 2.30pm and 7pm.
When and how tickets go on sale
The 2027 release sequence was annual WST Play subscribers 1 May 2026, 11am; website subscribers 3 May, 9am; general sale 4 May, 9am. These are past release dates, not future sales. Use WST’s official links or Sheffield Theatres’ snooker booking office to check availability.
All figures below come from the official 2027 price sheet. The table is wide: scroll it sideways, or focus the table region and use your arrow keys. The theatre’s booking fee is 10%. No child price or concession should be assumed from these full-price categories.

All 228 published prices are shown. A dash means no price is published for that category and session; it does not mean free entry. * marks a scheduled final session of a match. There are no morning sessions on 22, 26 or 29 April, or 2–3 May.
The sheet excludes booking fees. The theatre booking office charges 10%; £50 becomes £55 and £190 becomes £209. These are listed prices, not live availability. The booking page quotes some hospitality “from” prices that do not cover every weekday price in the sheet. Check the selected session’s basket.
Premium includes a programme and commentary radio. Legends Walk adds individual chair seating by the players’ entrance, a trophy photo, a snooker-legend visit and a commemorative gift. Century Club includes dining and drinks with A/B-row seating; 1875 Club includes dining and prime seating. The sheet and booking page describe different possible premium/1875 rows, so get the allocated seat confirmed.

If your match finishes early
A match ends when a player reaches the winning frame total. There may be fewer frames than expected, or no need for its last scheduled session. In the current 2027 terms, a scheduled final session counts as completed after four frames or 90 minutes, whichever comes first.
If a session does not take place, ticket-only buyers receive the face value back. If it starts but ends below both thresholds, a ticket-only refund applies when no alternative entertainment is provided; if entertainment is provided, no refund is due. For hospitality, the refundable part is the prevailing Premium ticket price, not the whole package. Read the official early-finish terms before booking a concluding session.
A ticket bought before the draw does not guarantee a player. Current terms also restrict refunds for changed plans. A winning score, early finish and full event cancellation are different cases; the official terms control your purchase.
How to pick a session
Variety and lower prices: first round, 17–22 April. Two matches run at once, but your reserved seat is for the chosen table. Standard M, N, P starts at £50.
Longer matches: second round, 22–26 April, and quarter-finals, 27–28 April. Both use best-of-25 matches over three sessions. For the quarter-finals, the cheapest morning standard band is £73.
The one-table setting: semi-finals, 29 April–1 May. The whole auditorium faces one match. The cheapest published semi-final standard session is 30 April, 10am, at £100.
The final weekend: 2–3 May, from £156 before fees in M, N, P. Monday 3 May is a bank holiday; the final evening costs £174 in that band. For a chance of seeing the trophy awarded, choose the last evening with the early-finish terms in mind.
Children: 23 April at 10am is a daytime second-round option. [UNVERIFIED: 2027 minimum age and child-ticket policy.] Confirm eligibility with the box office before paying. Families and group bookings covers what is and is not published.
A particular player: use the official draw and match allocations once available. Table One follows the top half and Table Two the bottom half. Qualification, results and withdrawals can change who you see.
Getting there on busy days
Sheffield station: 10–15 minutes on foot. Go uphill along Howard Street, cross Arundel Gate and use the ramp beside Millennium Gallery towards Surrey Street and Tudor Square. Q-Park Charles Street is about 5 minutes away; the theatre offers a first-hour-free voucher, not combined with pre-booking.
For bags and entry, use the dated instructions above. The 2026 cloakroom did not take suitcases. A hotel with luggage storage is more useful than arriving with a case at the auditorium.
An evening ticket starts at 7pm and does not give a fixed end time. Check your return train for the date and allow for the station walk. See the full travel section and the Crucible accessibility guide.

Where to stay and between-session plans
For the shortest walk, compare Mercure St Paul’s beside the Winter Garden or Leopold Hotel in Leopold Square. Station-side options include Novotel Sheffield Centre and Leonardo Hotel Sheffield. The hub lists hotels by area and travel time, including Leeds and Manchester rail alternatives.
Tamper serves breakfast on Arundel Street; The Head of Steam faces the theatre in Tudor Square; Ego is beside the Winter Garden. For a smaller pub, try The Brown Bear on Norfolk Street or The Old Queen’s Head towards the interchange. See before, between and after-session suggestions.
The free Winter Garden Cue Zone and Tudor Square big screen ran in 2026. The 2027 dates and hours are not yet confirmed. The Millennium Gallery, Winter Garden and Peace Gardens are within a few minutes’ walk; both Millennium Gallery and Kelham Island Museum currently close on Mondays.
Planning around the final
The last day, Monday 3 May 2027, is the Early May bank holiday. The final has 1pm and 7pm sessions, and the winning score can bring play to an end before its last scheduled session. Check the early-finish section before committing to Monday evening.
For doors, bags, dress, food, cash and movement during play, use On the day at the Crucible. Help on the day has stewards, box-office contacts and emergency directions.
